New Video?!

That's right, folks, there's a new video coming out, and I'm giving you an inside scoop to what's going on as you read! It's HARDCORE!

Just kidding. Right now it's pretty monotonous for most of you. But here's what's going on:

My friends and I filmed a video a week or so back. As editor, for a while I've been pretty lazy. I've been lolly gagging and slacking off sorta, but I've gotten quite a good deal done recently. My main goals were to get good angles and to get good sound and acting. The angles were good. The audio is also pretty good.

The majority of the editing is directed toward fixing up the sound. Though my new microphone is pretty impressive, it still picks up background noises. So, my goal is to clean up most of this background noise. Here's what the original sound clip looks like:

Sound editing sucks. You see this, and you think "Wow. What the hell is this." It's basically what the sound in the video clips look like. See all the intermediate fuzz in the top half of the timeline, the light purplish noise? See the same fuzz in between the main sound? This is the background noise. My goal is to eliminate most of this intermediate fuzz. After the makeover, the clip will look like this:

There's a big improvement there. You'd hear a big difference in sound quality if you heard the before and after clips. But right now I'm too lazy to upload the sound files. I'm sorry, but you should be able to hear it once the video is done. :)

Here's what the main timeline looks like:

Fun stuff. I have about half the video imported, as well as all the clips so far sound edited. Progress is good.

We got a new actor, and he's white. We also got a half Mexican half Filpino guy too. We also have Henry, Roger, and a brief cameo of me. It looks quite promising so far. I shall keep you all updated with it!

Julius Caesar vs. Socrates

Julius Caesar vs. Socrates

A history project my friends Jack, Kyle and me did. The prompt was Celebrity Deathmatch: Pit a Greek and a Roman against each other. This was the result.

Everything you see there, the animations and everything, was created in Adobe After Effects. It took me 11+ hours to complete the animations. I was up till past 4 that night! The sprites were custom made by Kyle, and Jack put together the dialogue boxes and the scenes.

Lots of tedious work here. Took forever just to animate the way the words are revealed in the dialogue boxes. The TYRANNY attack took a long time especially. I had to animate every single one of those rectangles that signify DEF DOWN. Same with the knives.

Watch it, and I hope you think it's good!

I shall edit this when I find out my grade on it.
