The Missing Immigrant Agency

The Missing Immigrant Agency

The video is up! Lieutenant Octave and his lackies, Spotoloticus and Evels, go to Julien Lee's house to search for a foreigner.

I admit we look kinda stupid, but hey, in my opinion, it is good. I guess if you don't understand our humor too much it doesn't make as much sense, but hey, tough.

Enjoy!

Done, But Not Yet

The video is done.

Why aren't I posting it yet?

I'm too lazy.

It shall be reviewed by Roger and Ryan before I post. Also, I want to make a movie poster for it.

Here's some more screenshots. Not much to see though. Most of the video is the same stuff.

However, I find that it's very interesting to watch. It has a sort of edginess that's achieved by the new video filters, the music, and the silence during the talking portions. When it gets too tense, bam, some comedy relief. It looks great.

Notice the difference in color and contrast in these screenshots. This is how the entire video is like.

It creates a large and beautiful contrast between bright and dark. It looks really cool for this type of video.

I will start working on that movie poster. Until then, I shall not keep you waiting long!

Progress Flows Quickly

I have finished a lot of the video over the weekend. I worked for probably about 9 hours in total this past long Halloween weekend, and I don't regret it. I ended up doing so much on it that the video is almost done.

Audio editing has to be the most boring thing I've done so far in filmmaking. Nothing is more monotonous than staring at purple and orange and yellow waves that seem to represent sound. Nothing is more monotonous, except waiting in line at the DMV.

The music is in. It fits very well with the scenes. I'm quite happy with it.

The video flows well. It has no noticable bumps or cusps in its general direction. It looks good.

Here are some screenshots, just for you!

I started fiddling with the contrast and the saturation to make it have a more lifeless feel to it. Tell me what you think of it:

I shall be done with the video by the end of the week!

New Video?!

That's right, folks, there's a new video coming out, and I'm giving you an inside scoop to what's going on as you read! It's HARDCORE!

Just kidding. Right now it's pretty monotonous for most of you. But here's what's going on:

My friends and I filmed a video a week or so back. As editor, for a while I've been pretty lazy. I've been lolly gagging and slacking off sorta, but I've gotten quite a good deal done recently. My main goals were to get good angles and to get good sound and acting. The angles were good. The audio is also pretty good.

The majority of the editing is directed toward fixing up the sound. Though my new microphone is pretty impressive, it still picks up background noises. So, my goal is to clean up most of this background noise. Here's what the original sound clip looks like:

Sound editing sucks. You see this, and you think "Wow. What the hell is this." It's basically what the sound in the video clips look like. See all the intermediate fuzz in the top half of the timeline, the light purplish noise? See the same fuzz in between the main sound? This is the background noise. My goal is to eliminate most of this intermediate fuzz. After the makeover, the clip will look like this:

There's a big improvement there. You'd hear a big difference in sound quality if you heard the before and after clips. But right now I'm too lazy to upload the sound files. I'm sorry, but you should be able to hear it once the video is done. :)

Here's what the main timeline looks like:

Fun stuff. I have about half the video imported, as well as all the clips so far sound edited. Progress is good.

We got a new actor, and he's white. We also got a half Mexican half Filpino guy too. We also have Henry, Roger, and a brief cameo of me. It looks quite promising so far. I shall keep you all updated with it!

Julius Caesar vs. Socrates

Julius Caesar vs. Socrates

A history project my friends Jack, Kyle and me did. The prompt was Celebrity Deathmatch: Pit a Greek and a Roman against each other. This was the result.

Everything you see there, the animations and everything, was created in Adobe After Effects. It took me 11+ hours to complete the animations. I was up till past 4 that night! The sprites were custom made by Kyle, and Jack put together the dialogue boxes and the scenes.

Lots of tedious work here. Took forever just to animate the way the words are revealed in the dialogue boxes. The TYRANNY attack took a long time especially. I had to animate every single one of those rectangles that signify DEF DOWN. Same with the knives.

Watch it, and I hope you think it's good!

I shall edit this when I find out my grade on it.

School

This past Tuesday, school resumed once again. My impressions?

Some of my teachers are okay. My French teacher is the same as last year, and she's okay. My math teacher is borderline crazy. She yells at the P.A. system during announcements. I don't raelly think that's normal. My science teacher is pretty neat (I said neat Kristin). He's kinda old, but he's cool. He also has springs (I mean springs) in his work shoes. They give his heels cushion. I want those shoes.

My English teacher sucks. Badly. She's young. She has that high-pitched nasaly voice, so it can be kinda annoying. She walks around with her hand in a chicken-wing-type manner. It looks really really forced for some reason. She also smiles all the time, but it's not the friendly type of smile. It's the kinda fake big smile that just screams at you, "I'm stabbing you guys in my mind." Hate her, and hate her class.

History is fun, but it's a bit of a joke. We seriously don't do anything in that class. We were told to spend the entire period just thinking of a list. I did in about 15 minutes, and I just talked the rest of the time. I like history this year.

First week impressions? I wish it were still summer. School just isn't the same as last year. I miss my English, Math and Biology teachers. I have no classes with my close friends. I just wish I didn't have to go to school so soon. It's just not the right time for me. I want to sleep more.

I'll update my blog later. I've been wanting to film something with my friends for a while, but I can't think of a good script to write. I'll get something done eventually.
